The Airborne Comedians are Dan Foley and Joel Harris who met each other during a snowball juggling contest in 1982 in Spencerport, NY. They made their own juggling clubs out of clorox bottles and broom handles and taught themselves to pass clubs back and forth. Dan and Joel were officially infected with the juggling bug when they went to a juggling convention at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and passed clubs with their juggling Jedi master, Greg Moss. They did their first street juggling shows at the Corn Hill Arts Festival in Rochester, NY in the summer of 1983.
Joel met his wife, Tobi, at this same art festival and it was love at first sight (she was a juggler from RIT!) Joel and Tobi have two kids in college and live in Amherst, MA. Joel is riding his surfboard when he is not riding his unicycle. He also works part time as a geologist for New England Environmental, Inc. in Amherst, MA.
Dan married his high school sweetheart who is also a Harvard PhD molecular biologist, Dr. Ann Marie Zavacki, who does research on thyroid hormone metabolism at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston. Dan and Ann have two kids and live in Norwood, MA. You may also run into Dan as Professor Quackenstein, his persona as a ConDucktor for Boston Duck Tours.
